Bundibugyo District is one of the Local Governments, under the Uganda Government decentralization policy, located in the west of Uganda.

We are the pearl of the Pearl of Africa.

The district's headquarters are located in 'chief town' of Bundibugyo District.  

It is the only Ugandan district capital located west of the Rwenzori Mountains.

The predominant ethnicities in the town are the Bamba and the Bakonjo
